Community First is an £80m government-funded initiative, managed by the Community Development Foundation, that will run for four years, until March 2015.
The programme will help communities come together to identify their strengths and local priorities in order to plan for their future and become more resilient.
It will fund both new and existing community groups.
Funding Available to Improve Conditions for Residents!
Whalley Range has received some Government money to invest in the area.
Do you need funding for your group?
You can apply to the new Whalley Range Community First Panel for a small grant to improve your neighbourhood.
New and existing community groups who live in Whalley Range can apply for funding for projects that will benefit the area.
In line with the criteria set by the Community Development Foundation, the Panel used feedback from Residents to identify 5 priorities for Whalley Range as:
•Promoting Employability
•Health & Wellbeing
•Promoting Community Cohesion
•Capacity Building in 3rd Sector Organisations
•Promoting Community Involvement.
